Chapter 30: The Room with Two Guns

The warehouse smelled of oil, sweat, and secrets.

Kabir stood at one end of the room. Alina at the other. In between them — a steel table.

Two guns.

One file.

And a truth that could burn down everything.

Meher entered behind Kabir, silent, unreadable. She knew he didn’t ask her to come. But he also didn’t stop her.

“What is this?” she asked.

Alina smiled coldly. “A test.”

“She sold my location,” Kabir growled. “To Bhardwaj. Nearly got Meher killed.”

“And yet I’m still breathing,” Alina replied, voice calm. “Because you don’t want to believe I betrayed you.”

Kabir slammed his fist down on the table. “Give me one reason not to pull the trigger.”

Alina’s eyes flicked to Meher. “Because she lied too.”

Silence.

Meher’s blood turned to ice.

“I called your number, Meher,” Alina said smoothly. “You picked up. You knew about the shipment.”

Kabir turned slowly. “Is that true?”

Meher’s voice was steady. “Yes.”

Alina smirked. “You see? She’s learning from you.”

Kabir stared at Meher. Hurt. Rage. Something deeper.

“Why?”

She held his gaze. “Because I needed to know who I was without you telling me. Because I wanted power, not permission.”

Silence again.

Then Kabir pushed one gun toward her.

“Decide,” he said. “Her… or me.”

Meher’s hand hovered over the steel.

Because in that room, love didn’t matter.

Only loyalty.

And tonight—

Someone wasn’t walking out alive.
